Here is a selection of my learning that I wish to share. Not all my work will be perfect all of the time as I am a work in progress. I welcome positive and helpful comments.
Kia ora . This is my cube reflecting on the past and the future like people who have past away in the past , our goals for the next twelve months and people that is important to you and that mean well to you i wrote mum and rob , for the people who have past in you'r family i wrote grandad and my goals were to be helpful and be respectful. People also do this during matariki to reflect on there past
Kia ora
Today me and Benjamin made a manu/kite for the matariki celebration. To do this hard work it
actually took us a long time ( about three days mostly weaving ). Also we tried not to get burned from the hot glue gun (it burns its really hot ).
The easy part was measuring and the hard part was weaving. We used flax, wool and toetoe.
To make the manu tukutuku you have to show your Tikanga and respect. Tikanga means why we do what we do, This respect me and my class have to show is that we cut up all of the tiny parts of flax into smaller pieces. Benjamin was a great helper because help is needed
Just incase you don't know what matariki is, it is a star there is also waiti, waita,tupu-a-nuku, tupu-a-rangi uru-a-rangi and wai-puna-rangi. They are bad because they tried to force their husbands to death.
But that is just the story of the mÄoris.
Anyway that's a whole nother page I am just talking about the celebration if you've been there you should know what happens I will name some things you will see, feasts , knuckle bones, kapa haka but as you should know about now maori people always say a karakia before they eat .
We have not tried to fly the manu tukutuku (i do not even know if we will it's too thin). For our celebration we had a festival in the hall , also we wrote some people that have past in the past.
Matariki is a time to reflect our goals and then set another goal.
I really like how you described Ireland with descriptive words. Maybe you should try Re-checking it a couple more times to see if it makes more sense. Otherwise keep it up.
Question.
Why did you choose this. How did you collect these pieces of information. Nice job.
These are my duffy books. The first book is called Justice league vs Bizarro league. This book is about wonder woman batman and super man. The last one is called the cat and the mouse in the haunted house by geronimo stilton.
Gather all your equipment so you're ready to start.
Measure ten strips of paper 1 cm And 30 centimetre long.
Cut strips of paper
place 5 strips of paper on the mat next to each other about 2 centimetres apart.
Grab a strip and weave it through the strips on the mat.
repeat step 5 using the 4 strips remaining.
Once step 6 is complete carefully push the Strps together Until they meet
sellotape to help the strips in place
to make the sides of box fold the outside strips back over the base (to keep the sides straight fold the strips using the linen of the base as your guide) .
Cut out 4 more strips that are 24 cm long and 1cm wide.
Take 1 strip and fold it into 4 quarters (to give it 4 corners)
With the same strip weave it through the sides of the box.
Tape each corner to keep the strip in place.
Repeat steps 12 and 13 with the 3 strips remaining.
To finish the box make sure you fold any other strips and tape it down.
